The absurd truth about Abe’s assassination

In Japan, the assassination of political figures in the past was mostly due to different political ideas.
But the assassination of Shinzo Abe this time is different.
As the Japanese police and media continue to investigate Toruya Yamagami, the portrait of a murderer who “has a grudge against figures in related religious groups because of his mother’s large religious donations has led to the bankruptcy of the family” has gradually become clear.
According to media reports, a representative of the “Unification Church of Korea” in Tokyo, Japan said that the mother of Tetsuya Yamagami, the suspect who assassinated former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on July 8, is a follower of the religion.
According to Yamagami Tetsuya’s confession, because he could not find the leader of the “Unification Church of Korea” church, he shifted the target of the murder to the former prime minister who was “close to the group”.
In other words, Shinzo Abe, who has dominated Japanese politics for many years, is likely to be just a scapegoat for the murderer to vent his anger in this incident. It’s hard not to be embarrassed by such a ridiculous truth.
Famous university, drop out

Information disclosure of major crimes in Japan is usually done by the police and the media.
The confession of the murderer released by the police during the interrogation is mostly based on the motive of the crime and the source of the murder weapon. The media digs up the background of the murderer, from birthplace, family environment, to student anecdotes, and work situation, and generally digs up the interpersonal network around the murderer.
Only two days after Abe was assassinated, the information of Toruya Yamagami has been roughly pieced together.
Toruya Yamagami, male, born in 1981, 41 years old this year, is a resident of Omiya-cho, Nara Prefecture. He rented a house for 38,000 yen (about 1,870 yuan) in “City Homes (rental platform)”.
In 1999, Yamagami High School graduated from Junshan High School in Yamato Koriyama City, Nara Prefecture. He was enthusiastic about the practice of cheerleading group activities (Japanese-style cheerleading) in high school, and was nicknamed “the head of the group”.
Some media found his graduation album, and in the column of “my own future”, he wrote “unclear”. Some classmates commented that he “doesn’t have extreme thoughts, usually works seriously, just an ordinary high school student that can be seen everywhere”.
With excellent grades, he was admitted to the Faculty of Engineering of Doshisha University in Kyoto. The difficulty of admission to the school ranks first among private universities in Western Japan. But unfortunately, Yamagami did not graduate, and after dropping out of school, he went to the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and served from 2002 to 2005.
After finally getting admitted to a famous university, the future should be bright, why should I drop out?
The reason for this is deeply related to this assassination case.
During the interrogation, Yamagami Toru also confessed: “My mother donated a lot of money to a certain religious group, which led to the breakdown of family relations and financial constraints, so I hated (the leader of the religious group).
” His father died very early, and he and his sister have been living with their mother at their grandfather’s house. But just as he was graduating high school (1999), Hill’s mother sold her grandfather’s house, and three years later she declared personal bankruptcy.
The time when my mother went bankrupt coincided with the time when Shan Shang dropped out of school. Private universities are expensive. If Shanshang’s statement is true, then it is likely that the mother sold the house and donated it, which caused her son to drop out of school because he could not pay the tuition.
Perhaps it was due to the compulsion of life that Yamagami enlisted for the post of “tenure-based self-defense officer” in the Maritime Self-Defense Force. He took classes every three years with cadre candidates and non-tenure-based self-defense officers. This “job” includes all board and lodging, and a certain salary.
Masatori Ito, a Japanese military expert familiar with the Self-Defense Forces system, said that “term-based self-defense officers” will not be promoted to military officers (equivalent to sergeants) after their term ends. Although they all serve together, the difference can be distinguished from the rank on the clothes. “Some people may have negative emotions such as inferiority.”
This position is also known as the “Inaugural Reserve Army” in the Self-Defense Forces, because they will re-enter society after three years, and those who serve will generally participate in inaugural activities before being discharged from the military.
The three-year career in the Self-Defense Force has exposed Yamagata to the assembly, disassembly and use of firearms. Masato Ito said that although the Maritime Self-Defense Force has fewer opportunities for gun training than the Land Self-Defense Force, there is also a live-fire program once a year.
In other words, Toru Yamagami has at least three training experiences in live ammunition.
The time when my mother went bankrupt coincided with the time when Shan Shang dropped out of school. Private universities are expensive. If Shanshang’s statement is true, then it is likely that the mother sold the house and donated it, which caused her son to drop out of school because he could not pay the tuition.

These experiences played a key role in Yamagami’s later production of guns and accurate shooting of the former prime minister.
Weird career change experience

In fact, Toru Yamagami did not go to extremes immediately after he was discharged from the army. He maintained the style of a top student, and successively obtained two Japanese qualifications – a financial planner and a house construction agent.
The reporter from Nanfeng Window checked the recent pass rates of the two certificates. The pass rate of financial planner level 2 in recent years is 40% to 50%, and that of residential construction agent is 15% to 18%.
In particular, the latter is known for its low pass rate, and those who pass the exam are almost equivalent to having an iron bowl of “real estate transaction”. Because Japanese law stipulates that in a real estate firm, “at least 1 person in 5” must be a home construction agent. People with this qualification certificate are very popular in the real estate industry.
But the paradox is that Toru Yamagami was neither engaged in financial-related work nor in real estate transactions, but instead worked as a salesperson at Kojima Electric. According to the “work performance” picked up by the Japanese media, Yamagami has also been commended for his monthly personal sales exceeding 16 million yen (about 780,000 yuan), which seems to be conscientious.
The salesperson’s job was not long, so Yamagami transferred to work at Horiba Productions. This is an equipment manufacturer of analytical testing instruments, with a high market share and good benefits. If you do it well, the job will not be a problem until you retire.
  However, Shanshang changed jobs again.
Later, he joined a dispatch company (equivalent to a temporary labor company, the company dispatched jobs at random, mostly short-term jobs), did catering, did office chores, and also drove a forklift. Compared with working in a serious company, the income of dispatch companies is small and variable, and there is almost no promotion prospect at all.
From the point of view of work alone, his life is not easy. What’s even more surprising is his job choice. He passed the difficult qualification certificate, but he did not engage in related occupations. Joined a good company, but transferred to a dispatch company whose income and development prospects were not as good as before, and became a temporary worker.
Such frequent job changes are rare in Japan, which pays attention to lifetime employment. There must be something wrong with life on the mountain, no doubt.

What’s wrong? I’m afraid it has something to do with religion.
According to a report in the Japanese magazine “Modern Business”, Toruya Yamagami first joined a religious group under the influence of his mother, and then retreated to join a branch of this group. The two groups turned against each other, and his relationship with his mother gradually deteriorated.
In this religious group, believers act according to the will of the leader, including the country they live in, where they work, who they marry, when to give birth… As long as it is the leader’s order, believers must abide by it and not disobey.
Some media published Yamagami Tetsuya’s confession: “My mother is a follower of the ‘Unification Church of Korea’, and my original (assassination) target was the leader of the church, but it was very difficult, and I turned to target people who were closely related to the church. Shinzo Abe.”

On July 8, 2022, Toru Yamagami, the man who shot former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, was also arrested

This statement is now also mentioned on the homepage of the “Temple of World Peace and Unification”. However, the church denied all connections with Tetsuya Yamagami, as well as the donation of Yamagami’s mother, and expressed condolences to the former Prime Minister Abe, mentioning that “the church was established in 2015, and its history is still shallow, except for the beginning of its establishment. Except for the congratulatory message from Shinzo Abe, the rest is irrelevant.”
The confession of the “Temple of World Peace and Unification” cuts almost all connections with the assassination incident. But its parent, the time-honored “United Family for Peace and Reunification of the World”, is not so easy to prove its innocence.
The church drains the money of the believers

”World Peace and Unification Family Union” is a religious group founded by Moon Myung in 1954. It was originally called “World Christian Unification Spirit Association”, or “Korea Unification Church” for short.
Compared with other countries, Christianity in Korea is deeply involved in the development of its modern nation-state. This background makes South Korea’s religious groups have a high status, and Christians account for more than a quarter of South Korea’s population. This includes some groups that use the banner of “Christianity” to act indiscriminately.
The Unification Church of Korea has followers all over the world, with a total of more than 3 million people.
Toruya Yamagami first joined a religious group under the influence of his mother, and then retreated to join a branch of this group. The two groups turned against each other, and his relationship with his mother gradually deteriorated.

In Korea, Japan, and the United States, it is classified as Protestant within Christianity and protected by local laws.
The reason why it was able to gradually spread from South Korea to Japan and even the United States is related to Moon Myung Sun’s active participation in international political activities.
After founding the church, he originally only did missionary activities. Later, he was drawn to the periphery of South Korea’s Central Intelligence Agency, serving as a bridge for the right-wing forces in Japan and South Korea to maintain relations between the two countries. During this experience, Myung Moon actively preached in Japan, and forged close relationships with right-wing political forces and gangs.
In the 1960s, during the Cold War period, the two camps faced fierce confrontation. At the time, some Japanese politicians believed that winning over such groups would help fight the communist movement. Among them, Abe’s grandfather, Nobuyuki Kishi.
In 1971, Moon Myung moved his headquarters to the United States, began to preach on the other side of the ocean, and at the same time began to communicate with American political forces. He not only made a scandal of “Korea Gate” political donations, but was also sentenced to 18 months in prison in 1981 for tax fraud and obstruction of justice.
The exchanges with political forces in various countries have allowed them to accumulate a strong political endorsement, and use the convenience of “freedom of belief” to develop and grow in many places.
In a video of an event held by the “Unification Church of Korea” widely circulated on the Internet, Trump, Shinzo Abe, and Ban Ki-moon all made speeches, which shows the great political energy of the “Unification Church of Korea”.
The so-called “churches” with a purpose in this category generally cut off a person’s original family network in the name of religious activities, leaving them in a situation of isolation and helplessness, and ultimately they can only be more closely attached to the church.
The “Unification Church of Korea” is very strict with the property management of the believers. After joining the church, all the income for three years must be handed over, and one-tenth of the income every year after that must be handed over to the church. Secondly, the church will use various gimmicks to sell religious supplies to believers at high prices. Regular donations are more commonplace, like a black hole of desire and dissatisfaction, where the church tries to drain all the energy and financial resources of its members endlessly.
However, the high-level personnel of the church, relying on the large amount of money obtained by exploiting the believers and the extensive contacts provided by the believers, invested heavily all over the world and established a “giant commercial octopus” with business formats such as car building, shipbuilding, catering, logistics, and media. “.
If the current analysis of Japanese society is generally accurate, then Toruya Yamagami’s mother may be just one of the miserable believers.
So far, things are still full of mysteries. In the disclosure of the Nara police, Yamagami Tetsuya’s confessions are often “unclear and difficult to understand”.
Based on available information alone, the motive for the crime remains difficult to determine. After Toru Yamagami was handed over to the Procuratorate, the case will be further investigated and tried.
The only certainty is that the Japanese prime minister who served the longest after the war will never come back.
