New employment opportunities in the career ceremony

Whether it is a “building energy conservation and emission reduction consultant” that meets the “double carbon” goal, or a fashionable “study travel instructor”, or a trendy “robot engineering technician”, all are waiting for young people to display their talents and achieve themselves. .
Last weekend, the reporter went to a friend’s house as a guest. During the meal, the friend suddenly said: “Student Xiao Ai, listen to some soothing music.” “Laputa in the Sky” by Joe Hisaishi was broadcast automatically. The originally somewhat monotonous dining atmosphere, with the wonderful piano music as the background, immediately makes people feel relaxed and happy.
Xiao Ai is an open artificial intelligence platform developed by Xiaomi, which is similar to Baidu’s Xiaodu. They are all very “well-behaved and sensible” and “able to speak and sing”. They are electronic “little partners” who accompany lonely humans. But what most people don’t know is that there are many AI trainers behind Xiao Ai and Xiaodu who are so considerate.
Li Jinlin, who was born in the 1980s, is an AI product manager of Xiaomi, responsible for building the “brain” of Xiaoai. His department labels and analyzes a large amount of platform data from Xiaoai, imports the algorithm model and conducts training to teach Xiaoai students to more accurately identify user intentions. Through the work of him and the team, Xiao Ai may also be able to distinguish whether the sentence “today’s weather is so good!” is a strike-up or a question. In other words, the reason why Xiao Ai becomes smarter is that AI trainers like Li Jinlin analyze massive data and then “feed” it to Xiao Ai. In Xiaomi’s Xiaoai team, there are dozens of people like him engaged in this profession.
This year, AI trainers have been officially included in the newly revised “Occupational Classification Code of the People’s Republic of China” (hereinafter referred to as the “Occupation Code”). Compared with the 2015 edition, the new version of the Occupation Canon has a net increase of 158 new occupations, and now the number of occupations included in the Occupation Canon has reached 1,639. Compared with the past, these new occupations are more innovative, more “green”, more “specialized”, and more detailed.
To some extent, the career ceremony pointed out the direction for young people’s job hunting in the future. Because these emerging occupations are closely related to national key strategic deployments such as manufacturing power, digital China, green economy, rule of law, and rural revitalization. For example, around manufacturing power, industrial robot operators and operation and maintenance personnel are included in the career ceremony. According to the needs of rural revitalization, agricultural digital technicians and agricultural managers are included in the ceremony. The career ceremony also marked digital careers and green careers. A total of 97 digital occupations were marked this time, accounting for 6% of the total number of occupations. At the same time, continuing the practice of marking green occupations in the 2015 edition of the Occupation Ceremony, 134 green occupations were marked, accounting for 8% of the total number of occupations. Among them, 23 are both digital occupations and green occupations. This also reflects the career changes brought about by the digital economy and green industries.
In terms of the digital economy, in addition to the AI trainer Li Jinlin is engaged in, there are also occupations such as blockchain engineering and technical personnel, online appointment delivery personnel, live broadcast sales personnel, e-sports personnel, and short video bloggers. The birth of these occupations reflects the prosperity of the Internet economy and reflects the favor of young people for new occupations that keep up with the development of the Internet.
In fact, these new occupations are also in high demand. Data show that in 2021, the output of industrial robots in my country will reach 366,000 units, a 10-fold increase from 2015, and their applications will cover 60 major industries in the national economy. According to IFR statistics, the industrial robot market will reach US$8.7 billion in 2022, and is expected to exceed US$11 billion in 2024, showing an obvious growth trend. Correspondingly, the demand for employment with relevant skills has increased significantly, and even became one of the 100 occupations that are “most in short supply” in the second quarter of 2022 released by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. The talent gap in my country’s artificial intelligence robot industry is as high as 5 million. In addition, with the continuous emergence of new formats such as online education, Internet medical care, online office, unmanned economy, and shared production, relevant talents have also become sought-after in the job market.
Green occupations are also attracting attention. New occupations such as carbon management engineers and technicians, carbon emission administrators, and carbon sequestration evaluators are included in the occupation ceremony for the first time. In industries such as electric power, cement, steel, paper, and chemical industries that control emissions, “carbon stewards” are in short supply. With the advancement of my country’s timetable for realizing the “double carbon” target, its employment situation will show an obvious “smiling curve”.
Therefore, whether it is a “building energy conservation and emission reduction consultant” that meets the “double carbon” goal, a fashionable “research travel instructor”, or a trendy “robot engineering technician”, all are waiting for young people to display their talents. Achieve yourself.
