Compared with the 2015 edition, the new version of the Occupation Canon has a net increase of 158 new occupations, and now the number of occupations included in the Occupation Canon has reached 1,639. Compared with the past, these new occupations are more innovative, more “green”, more “specialized”, and more detailed.

  In fact, these new occupations are also in high demand. Data show that in 2021, the output of industrial robots in my country will reach 366,000 units, a 10-fold increase from 2015, and their applications will cover 60 major industries in the national economy. According to IFR statistics, the industrial robot market will reach US$8.7 billion in 2022, and is expected to exceed US$11 billion in 2024, showing an obvious growth trend. Correspondingly, the demand for employment with relevant skills has increased significantly, and even became one of the 100 occupations that are “most in short supply” in the second quarter of 2022 released by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.   Green occupations are also attracting attention. New occupations such as carbon management engineers and technicians, carbon emission administrators, and carbon sequestration evaluators are included in the occupation ceremony for the first time. In industries such as electric power, cement, steel, paper, and chemical industries that control emissions, “carbon stewards” are in short supply.
